The scores tied up both teams’ headed to a penalty shootout as Amavubi emerge victorious after converting all the five penalties. Harambee Stars midfielder Eric Johana saw his effort parried away by Rwandan goalie Eric Ndayishmiye.

The tourney’s top goal scorer Atahir El-Tahir’s goal bound curling effort hits the upright bar. South Sudanese goalie Juma Jinaro was crucial in denying much of the Sudanese’s efforts. Sudan goalkeeper the veteran Akram El-Hadi Salim was the hero as he saves Silvestre William Ofiri’s penalty kick to hand Sudan a place in the semi-final.
