Five Star Mali Crashed Ethiopia in U-20 Friendly

It was a bad day at the office for the Junior Walias as they took a hammering at the hands of the Mali U-20 in a buildup game on Monday at Bamako.

Both nation used the game to prepare for the upcoming African U-20 Nations Cup, which is due in Zambia, this weekend. In the friendly game played at Satde Ominsports Madibo Keita coach Girma Habteyohannis used the team that beat Ghana in the first interval. The home side opened the floodgates minute after the onset through Mamby Koïta. Amadou Diarra doubled the lead in the 35th minute leaving Mali the superior side.

Coach Girma brought some changes in the second half, although the Malians run rampant by finding the net three more times. Aly Malle bagged a brace before Sidiki Maiga “Titi” wrapped up the score 10 minutes from time to complete the total drubbing of the Junior Walias.

The Junior Walias will jet out to Accra, Ghana today via Lomé, Togo. The national side will lock horns against the Black Satellite on Sunday in Cape Coast, 200KM west of Accra. Mali, on the other hand, hosts Mauritania in Bamako. Mali emerged a 3-0 winners in Nouakchott as they are in firm position to book thier place in the second round.
