Ethiopia Bunna thumped Ethiopia Nigd Bank 5-2 in round 14 fixture of the topflight league tie in Abebe Bikila Memorial Stadium.
Goals from Asechalew Girma, Samuel Sanumi and Gatoch Panom handed Bunna a resounding victory over the Bankers in a very one sided encounter. The home side dominated the proceeding while the visitors were no match for Ethiopia Bunna as they struggled for the majority of the game. Nigerian import Samuel Sanumi opened the floodgates minute after the half hour mark when Gatoch Panom squared off a good ball inside the area for Sanumi to slot home. Goals galore in the second interval and it were Bunna who doubled their lead. Asechalew Girma rounded Nigd Bank goalie Musse Gebrekidan and his marker to double the advantage four minutes following the resumption. Asechalew completed his brace in the 59th minute after a defense splitting pass from Elias Mamo found him. The Bankers found themselves in a quite predicament in the 64th minute when Sanumi brought down by Mussie. Ethiopia Bunna captain Gatoch Panom stepped up and successfully converted the resulting spot kick.
Nigd Bank pulled one back through Peter Nuwadke’s penalty kick before Sanumi extended the lead through a fine finish in the 85th minute. Ameha Belete struck the conciliation for the Bankers with a rebound three minutes before time as the homers emerged victorious. The win takes Ethiopia Bunna fourth with 23 points whilst Ethiopia Nigd Bank are tabled at 11th with 13 points.
Remaining seven round 14 fixtures will be played on Tuesday across the country.
