Getaneh Kebede Returns to Dedebit

Ethiopian Premier League outfit Dedebit have captured the signing of center forward, Getaneh Kebede.

Getaneh was released from South African club Bidvest Wits after his three years contract ended at the end of the season.

The proven goal poacher put ink to paper a two years deal with the Blues as he makes a return to the local league. The ex Debube Police striker spent the season on loan at the relegated University of Pretoria. There was a wide range of speculation that suggested the striker is on his way to another South African side and a trial with a Portuguese club. Getaneh joined the Clever Boys from Dedebit 3 seasons ago after his standout season with the Addis Ababa outfit.

Dedebit have already completed the signing of another Ethiopian international, Asrat Megressa on Monday. Nigerian striker Samuel Sanumi has signed a two years contract with Ethiopia Bunna, hence the on time arrival of Getaneh will bolster the attacking department.Getaneh is expected to form a formidable partnership with his former mate Dawit Fikadu.

Getaneh has been on good form for the Walias as he scored 8 goals, including 3 goals against North African giants Algeria, in 6 consecutive international games. He was on the score sheet when Ethiopia wrapped up the three points against Seychelles on the final round of the African Cup of Nations Qualifier tie.
