ArbaMinch, Kidus Giorgis back to Winning Ways as Woldia see off Jimma Aba Bunna

ArbaMinch Ketema managed to bounce back from their previous week defeat with a resounding derby win over Sidama Bunna. Adane Girma’s lone goal handed maximum points for Kidus Giorgis. Woldia SC have recorded their first ever away win after trouncing Jimma Aba Bunna. The clash between table toppers Adama Ketema and Dedebit ended in a disappointing draw. Hawassa Ketema and Dire Dawa Ketema settled for a stalemate in Hawassa.

ArbaMinch Ketema crushed Sidama Bunna 3-1 in Debub Derby encounter in ArbaMinch. Tadele Mengesha put the Crocodiles ahead in the 18th minute through a clinical finish outside the box after collecting a pass from the inform midfielder Wendmeneh Zerihun. Wendmeneh teed up Gebremikael Yacob for ArbaMinch’s second 7 minutes later. It is Gebremikael’s fifth goal of the season. A foul on Addis Gidey rewarded the Yirgalem outfit a penalty and Abebe Tilahun made no mistake to pull one back just before the end of the first interval. Sidama Bunna pushed for the equalizer but got punished when Tsegaye Abera sealed victory in the 70th minute.

Abdulkerim Nikima and Tesfaye Melaku dismissed just before the end of the normal time as Kidus Giorgis prevailed 1-0 against Ethio-Electric. Adane Girma struck the solitary goal minutes after the resumption of the half following a goalkeeping blunder by Electric’s Ghanaian custodian Soulimana Aboubakheri. Adane now has scored 6 goals in this campaign.

Woldia registered their first ever away victory since the club promoted to the top tier league. Jimma Aba Bunna lost 2-0 to Woldia days after appointing Gebremedhin Haile as head coach. Veteran striker Andualem Nigusse gave the Wolo outfit the lead 5 minutes after the hour mark. Aba Bunna’s Tadele Mihrete turned in Andualem’s cross for an own goal in the 83rd minutes.

Dominant Hawassa Ketema failed to beat Dire Dawa Ketema at home. The homers created numerous goal scoring chances but they squandered the opportunities as the teams settled for a barren draw.

Ten man Adama Ketema hold Dedebit to a goalless draw in a very dull encounter at Addis Ababa Stadium.  Sisay Toli was shown a second yellow in the second half. However, Dedebit could not build on the numerical advantage. The draw took Mart Nooji’s side, Kidus Giorgis, above Adama and Dedebit.
