The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named a six women organizing committee to overlook the success of the event in Morocco which is a symposium on women’s football, today in executive committee meeting held at Ghanaian capital Accra. Ethiopian Football Federation deputy Secretary General Meskrem Tadesse is selected by the ExCo meeting to be in the organizing committee.
The symposium on women’s football is expected to tackle on issues of women football in the continent. It will be the first of its kind to be hosted at Morocco in 2018. Together with Meskrem Sierra Leone Football Association president who was indicted with corruption allegation days ago Isha Johansen, Burundian FIFA Council and CAF ExCo member Lydia Nsekera and former Moroccan Olympic 400 meters hurdle champion Nawal El Moutawakel, who happen to be the first African woman to win Olympic Gold in 1984 Los Angeles Olympic, have been included in the committee.
Meskrem is a FIFA Master Alumni graduate and was also a part of the organization team during the 2017 African Cup of Nations which was hosted in Gabon.
