Addis Ababa outfit Ethiopia Bunna has fined Ugandan midfielder Kirizestom Ntambi citing faking injuries in last couple of months. In a letter dated Sunday January 7 the club informed Ntambi to refund all salary payments made to him likewise his contract with the club will be determined in due time.
Since joining Bunna from Western Ethiopia side Jimma Aba Bunna on September 2017, Ntambi managed to amass only two league appearances and an Addis Ababa City Cup outing. Nonetheless, the former Vasco Da Gama FC player was on the sideline due to an alleged injury. Bunna stated on the letter that the Ntambi faked his injury. This prompted the club to give warning to the player as well as ordered him to reimburse the salary he has been getting while staying injured.
The club also noted further that Ntambi’s contract conditions with the club will be determined in the days coming. It is not for the first time that Ntambi have been overwhelmed with controversies. His commended maiden season in Ethiopian Premier League boosted interest from other clubs to chase his signature. Nonetheless, Ntambi signed for two clubs mainly Adama Ketema and Ethiopia Bunna. The Ethiopian Football Federation’s verdict declared Ntambi an Ethiopia Bunna player. Ethiopia Bunna continues to make headlines this week as they failed to agree on personal terms with Gatoch Panom.
