ArbaMinch Ketema and Sidama Bunna settled for a barren draw as ArbaMinch gain premier league safety. Relegation scare has been around ArbaMinch for much of the season but their resilience has paid off finally as they guaranteed a spot in the league for next season.
Dashen Bira came from behind to earn a crucial away draw against Hawassa Ketema. Hawassa threw away a two goals lead in Mulugeta Miheret’s last home game with the club. Yohanes Segebo gave Hawassa the lead minute after the half hour mark. Firdawek Sisay doubled the lead three minutes after the recess. Nonetheless, Togolese Edom Hosorouvi pulled one back for the Gondar side before the superb Yetesha Gizaw restored parity in the dying moments of the game.
Fellow relegation battlers Electric played out a goal less draw against Wolaitta Dicha in Boditi. The last game of the premier league will be very crucial for Dashen Bira and Electric as only two points separate the two sides in the log table.
Dedebit edge Diredawa Ketema 2-1 away. Dawait Fikadu handed the Blue Armies the lead before Belaye Abayneh leveled matters in the hour mark. Nigerian Samuel Sanumi struck nine minutes from time to seal the win for Dedebit. Ethiopia Bunna has also made winning ways when they beat the relegated Hadiya Hossana. Former Giorgis striker Mohammed Nasser gave the Army side a surprise lead nine minutes after the onset when he capitalizes on Robert Odongkara’s howler. Second half Substitute Dawa Hotesa recued the champions with a very composed finish when his curling effort finds the top corner in the injury time to salvage point for Giorgis.
Ethiopia Nigd Bank and Adama Ketema played out a disappointing barren draw as the later remain in the second spot in the table.
