Ethiopia coach Gebremedhin Haile has named a 28-man provisional squad which includes a trio of players based outside of the country.
Walias will enter a residential camp on August 1 in Hawassa as they commence preparation ahead of Seychelles clash.
Coach Gebremedhin has summoned Sweden based defender Walid Atta to the squad. The Ostersunds FK’s center back has been in good shape after switching to the Swedish side from Turkey. Tekelemariam Shanko, Mehari Mena and Addis Gidey received their first ever call to the senior national side.
Second tier league club Addis Ababa Ketema custodian Teklemariam Shanko was the first choice keeper for the U-20 team in Ethiopia’s attempt to qualify for the Total African U-20 Nations Cup. Kidus Giorgis left back Mehari Mena rediscovered his form this season having received the starting berth in the league champions ahead of veteran Abebaw Butako and Zekarias Tuji. It has been a breakthrough season for the Sidama Bunna winger Addis Gedey.
Notable absentee is the 2015/16 season Ethiopian Premier League MVP Asechalew Tamene, who is suspended for the duel. Tewodros Bekele, Tesfaye Alebachew and Endale Kebede made it to the provisional squad.
