The 2016/17 Ethiopian Premier League week 4 remaining seven fixtures were played today as Fasil Ketema pulled off a huge upset at home against defending champions Kidus Giorgis. Sidama Bunna came out on top as they beat derby rivals Wolaitta Dicha in Yirgalem. Ethiopia Bunna’s quest for a maiden maximum point continued today with a 1-1 draw against a tough Adama Ketema side.
Kidus Giorgis’s three games unbeaten run was halted at the hands of Fasil Ketema in Gondar. Fasil Ketema came from behind to overcome Kidus Giorgis 2-1. Salahdin Said put the visitors ahead in the 12th minute after capitalizing on Fasil Ketema defenders miscommunication. Abdulrahman Mubark canceled out Salahdin’s strike just before the end of the first interval. Abdulrahman was making his return to the team after being red carded in the season opener against Sidama Bunna. Togoloese forward Edom Hosorouvi sealed the win from the spot two minutes before time as Fasil Ketema registered their second win of the season.
The South Ethiopia Derby between Sidama Bunna and Wolaitta Dicha elapsed as Sidama came out victorious. Addis Gidey scored the lone goal to hand the Yirgalem outfit a precious three points.
Adama Ketema came from behind to force a 1-1 draw against Ethiopia Bunna in a tense tie played out at Adama Abebe Bikila Stadium. Cameroonian Yabeun William opened the scoring in the 52nd minute with a tap in after collecting a pass from Sadik Secho. Mujib Kassim leveled matters even minutes from time.
Mekelakeya put past two against Woldia as the former collected their maiden maximum points. Goals from Menyelu Wendimu and Maraki Worku were enough to give Woldia there first loss of the season.
ArbaMinch Ketema trounced Jimma Aba Bunna 3-0 in ArbaMinch. Wendmeneh Zerihun, Amanuel Gobena and Tekalegn Dejene score the goals in ArbaMinch’s first win of the season.
An early Habtamu Wolde strike brought joy to Easterners Dire Dawa Ketema as they swept aside Premier League rookies Addis Ababa Ketema. Elsewhere, Ethiopia Nigd Bank and Ethio-Electric share spoils. Nigerian Peter Nuwadke gave Bank the lead but Dawit Estifanos equalized from the spot in the 75th minute.
Kidus Giorgis still tops the log table with 9 points. Sidama Bunna are second with the same point tally but inferior in goal difference. Dedebit and Adama Ketema are 3rd and 4th with 7 points. The giant killers Fasil Ketema are 6th with 6 points from three games.
