Fasil Ketema ended of their three game winless streaks with a narrow victory over Woldia in Addis Ababa Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
The Ethiopian Football Federation suspended the Gondar outfit not to play one home game in Fasiledes Stadium as the Emperors forced to tackle Woldia in Addis Ababa.
In the Amhara derby, Fasil Ketema stared off the duel on a bright note as they dominated the proceedings in the opening minutes. Togolese import Edem Horousive’s goal bond header from Abdulrhaman Mubarak’s perfect cross struck the crossbar in the 6th minute. Woldia opted for a much defensive approach in the first interval as they struggled to create clear cut chances.
Minutes following the resumption, Yisak Mekuria headed home the much needed goal to put the Emperors ahead. Woldia failed to hit back their opponents as Fasil elapsed their three games losing streak in a style in front of a jovial and enthusiast fans.
The result leaves Fasil Ketema in sixth with 29 points as Woldia occupies 8th with 24 points.
