Ethiopian international Walid Atta has rejoined Saudi Arabian side Najran SC following the end of his loan move to Norway with Sogndal Fotball. Sogndal signed the 31 years old center back on a short term loan deal 4 months ago.
Walid’s days at Sogndal was numbered as he was sidelined for the majority of his loan move through injury. The former AIK, Dinamo Zagreb and BK Häcken defender is now back in Saudi, a country where he was born to Ethiopian mother and Eritrean father. Walid told Soccer Ethiopia exclusively that he is back with Najran. “ Yes I was just on loan to Norway because of they (Najran) could not register me in the league for the 2016/17 season. But now I am back and ready for the season with Najran.”
Najran SC failed to get promotion back to the Saudi Professional League after they narrowly lost in the last hurdle. The new Saudi Arabia First Division season is slated to kick off on September 12.
