Newly appointed Ethiopian U-20 Women national team coach Tewdros Desta has named a provisional 31 players squad to face Kenya in the FIFA U-20 World Cup qualifier which is due in France on 2018. The Ethiopian Football Federation have announced the Tewdros as head of coach of the national team on Monday with Serkaddis Ewnet assisting the Ethio-Electric coach. Serkaddis has been coaching Women Premier League side Tiret Corporate likewise she had also held the assistant coach role during Asrat Abate’s tenure with the U-20 team in 2016. Mekelakeya goalie coach Terefe Gudeta, who happened to be Lucy’s goalkeeper coach, is appointed goalkeeper coach.
The team will commence preparation in Eastern Ethiopia city of Dire Dawa. Dire Dawa Stadium will also be the venue that Ethiopia hosts Kenya comes September 17. Coach Tewdros is expected to omit 6 players from the provisional squad at end of August.
The team has comprised of former U-17 internationals. Former U-17 national team captain Emebet Addisu, Tideg Fisseha, Yemisrach Lakew, Temer Teneker, Senaf Wakuma, Mirekat Feleke, Melat Demeke, Samrawit Hailu, Kidist Zeleke.
