In a press conference held at Ethiopia Hotel today, the sports association announced that it wiped out the U17, U20 and the senior men sides. The club have announced they are pondering on the fate of the women side and the athletics team for the time being as the sides will be up for running next season.
Commercial Bank of Ethiopia vice president Mr. Seifu Bogale, who happens to be the president of the sports association, declared that the decision is based only on the poor results of the Addis Ababa outfit. According to the president, the association have closely scrutinized the club’s result of the past four seasons.
“The athletics and the women football team have a better result comparatively. Therefore, we won’t do anything to the athletics team. We will give the women football team a last ultimatum this year as we need to be consistent in all our decisions,” remarked the president.
The association is ready to shoulder the consequences of the decisions, the president concluded.
The 34 years old team have been in the premier league since 2000 until last year when it was relegated after having finished 15 in the 16 teams log.
