Ethiopian topflight side Woldia Sport Club named Zelalem Shiferaw as their new head trainer. The club confirmed the new development earlier today via their official Facebook handle although failed to disclose for how long his contract would run.
Zelalem was unemployed after leaving Dire Dawa Ketema midway through the 2017/18 season on a mutual consent. Under his tenure the Easterners avoided relegation last term but failed to capitalize on the heavy investment they made this season as Zelalem threw the towel. He was linked with a move to Wolaitta Dicha months ago.
Woldia were on hunt for a new trainer following the suspension of Zemariam Woldegiorgis by the Ethiopian Football Federation Discipline Committee. The new boss has the responsibility of securing league safety.
Zelalem previously worked at Debub Police, Sidama Bunna, Hawassa Ketema, Adama Ketema and Dedebit. He had a brief spell with the Ethiopian National Team as assistant to the then head trainer Gebremedhin Haile.
