Wolaitta Dicha suffered a third successive away loss when they fall 1-0 to Dire Dawa Ketema. Center back Bereket Samuel struck the solitary goal of the tie four minutes before the half time break. Ever since the Bees of Tona got promotion to the league, they have never beaten Dire Dawa Ketema in six league meetings. The win gives Coach Simon Abaye and his charges a glimpse of hope in their quest for league safety.
In the highly anticipated encounter defending champions Kidus Giorgis came from behind to force a late 1-1 draw against Mekele Ketema. Mekele took the lead in the 74th minute through their talisman Amanuel Gebremikael. It is Amanuel’s second goal against the same opponent this season. The Horsemen rallied to get the leveler and were successful when Abdulkerim Mohammed finds the back of the net to tie the score in the 83rd minute. Both sides missed on a chance to close the gap of leaders Jimma Aba Jifar.
Kidus Giorgis are second with 37 points, 2 points adrift of Jimma Aba Jifar, while Mekele Ketema leapfrogged Adama Ketema on goal differences to sit third. Dire Dawa Ketema occupies 12th with 22 points as Wolaitta Dicha are placed 10th with 27 points.
