Ethio Electric managed to finish match day 23 out of the relegation zone thanks to a hard fought 4-3 win against Dedebit. Ghanaian import Kalusha Alhassan grabbed a brace and provided an assist in the game. He has been an integral part of Ethio Electric this season and managed to score 10 goals from midfield. He spoke to Soccer Ethiopia after Wednesday’s game.
About Ethiopia and the Premier League:
“Ethiopia is a very nice country with very nice people. I am happy to be here. Before I came here I heard people say the Ethiopian League is easy but that is not true. It is a tough league and I managed to cope with that.”
After a bright start to the season Kalusha struggled to score goals for some time. He is getting back to his best in the last couple of weeks and he spoke about the difficulties he faced during the course of the season:
” I had a good start and then I was struggling with injuries. In the game against Mekelakeya I wasn’t even able to play. But my team needs me at the moment and so I am giving everything I have. It is true that scoring a lot of goals from my position is difficult but it is a team effort. We attack and defend together. ”
On what the win against Dedebit means for their survival hopes and what they should do in the upcoming games:
“Today’s win was huge. First of all we have to be grateful (for the three points). Our focus will be on the next game against Wolaitta Dicha. We will keep fighting and I am hopeful that we will survive.”
