St George is delighted to announce the signing of Fasika Asfaw on a two-year contract. The 28-year-old Fasika will help fill the void left by the exit of William Esanjo to St George overhauls its squad following its best season with a major trophy.
St George assistant Zerihun Shengeta said: “Fasika is a fantastic midfield player, with great energy and creativity. We believe him to be one of the best midfielders in Ethiopia and I am certain he will be a big hit with the St George fans. I’m delighted he has made the decision to come to St George and play his part in the club’s future. I’m looking forward to seeing him in action on our summer tour to Spain.”
Fasika Asfaw said: “Signing for St George is a dream comes true. I have joined St George to do all I can to help the team reach the club’s objectives. I’m excited to play for St George and I can’t wait for my first game in St George’s famous orange shirt.”
St George have signed Ethiopian left back Mehari Mena on a two-year deal.The 24-year-old left-back has passed a medical and signed a contract which will keep him at St George until the summer of 2016.
St George assistant Zerihun Shengeta said: “We have been monitoring him all season and it is fantastic he is joining us.”
Zerihun added: “He is a good age and he is still developing as a player, which is always exciting.”
Mehari Mena said: “I am thrilled and excited to be joining St George. I want to continue to progress my career and joining St George is the ideal place for me to do that. I am looking forward to this new chapter in my life and also looking forward to learning from the national team players and management at the club.”
Mehari joins St George’s other signing during the Ethiopian transfer window, Ethiopian Midfield Fasika Asfaw.
