Ethiopian women national side head coach Selam Zereay has announced an 18 player traveling squad to Algiers for the upcoming African Women Cup of Nations qualifier doubleheader against Algeria. The national team is expected to leave for the North African nations later tonight via Cairo.
Coach Selam trimmed the squad to 18 players after having intensive training session for a month. Center back Meskerem Kanko is left out of the squad due to a leg injury while Tsion Estifanos, Bethlehem Seman, Bezawit Tesfaye and Abaynesh Ereqelo have been dropped from the traveling squad.
Most of the players that played in the first qualifying round against Libiya have retained their places in the team. Lucy will face Algeria on the coming Wednesday in the first leg encounter. CAF has appointed Gambian referees to handle the duel at Stade Juillet 5.
