Dedebit FC head coach Nigusse Desta has died on Monday night due to a sudden illness. Coach Nigusse passed on in a tragic way leaving the Ethiopian Football fraternity devastated and shocked.
The Blues trainer began his coaching career at Army side Mekelakeya 9 seasons ago. He had also worked in Ethiopia Nigd Ban and Woldia, helping the latter to regain league status last season. He had won the Ethiopian Premier League title in 2013 with Dedebit.
Coach Nigusse felt nauseous on Monday and was rushed to a local health center around Gofa Camp. He then went to Hallelujah Hospital around Gotera. Nonetheless, the hospital pronounced Nigusse dead after his arrival. His body was sent to Menelik II Hospital for postmortem examination.
Nigusse’s body will be laid to rest on Wednesday, June 6 in the town of Maychew.
