Okiki Afolabi rejoins Jimma Abba Jifar

The 2017/18 Ethiopian premier League goal king Okikiola Aflolabi has returned to Champions Jimma Abba Jifar after a 5 months dreadful spell at Egypt premier League side Ismaily.

Afolabi, who scored 23 Goals last season for surprise packages Jimma Abba Jiffar, departed from Ethiopia through a lot of controversy, as the club stated with an official statement to the Ethiopia’s Football Governing Body (EFF) that the player has a contract remaining with the Western Ethiopian side. The player allegedly left the Club with a falsely fabricated release paper.

The Jimma Aba Jiffar’s general manager Eskedar Damtew told Soccer Ethiopia that the club had a series of negotiations with the player and he finally agreed to put pen to paper to play for one year for the defending champions.

Eskedar also stated that the club is waiting for the completion of the paperwork before the player starts training with his team mates. He will be eligible to play in the second round of the Ethiopian Premier league.

Jimma Abba Jiffar currently has 5 foreign players, of which 3 are forwards. It is expected that the team will soon part ways with one of three.
