Ethiopian Cup winner Wubetu Abate has reportedly issued resignation latter to Fasil Kenema days before the club starts its preparation for the continental journey.
With the arrival of Wubetu Abate at the end of last season Fasil Kenema become an exciting team to watch, with their expansive brand of football they were really a team worth watching, Fasil Kenema were destined to win the Ethiopian Premier League, unfortunately went out to lose the title in the final day but claimed Ethiopian Cup after cruising to victory over Wubetu Abate’s former employees Hawasa Kenema after penalty shoot out last week.
“The Emperors” will be representing Ethiopia in this years Edition of CAF confederation and are tied with fellow East African side Azam Fc, with the first leg set to be played at the Bahirdar international stadium in 15 days time, As things stand Wubetu is expected to be in the dugout for Fasil Kenema in their first-ever Continental match against Azam.
Fasil Kenema’s board has a huge mountain to climb in order to fill the void, Wubetu is expected to be heading to the USA for the footballing course after the first leg match against Azam.
Wubetu’s next destination is believed to be the record Ethiopian Champions Kidus Giorgis (St. George), if Wubetu is set to become the new Head Coach of Kidus Giorgis he will be the first Ethiopian at the hot sit on a permanent basis after 17 years, Seyoum Kebede was the last Ethiopian to be in charge of the horsemen.
In related news the clubs Nigerian forward Azzuka Izzu who scored 10 goals in all competition for Fasil and the Ivory Coast international Kedier Koulibaliy who can play as Center back and a defensive midfield also penned a one-year contract extension with the “The Emperors”.
