Wolwalo AU. extended the contract of Yohannes Sahile
Former Ethiopian national team head coach Yohannes sahile has agreed to continue as Welwalo head coach until the end of 2019/20 season.
Yohannes was joined Wolwalo last season after he mutually terminated his contract with fellow Ethiopian premier side Dire Dawa Ketema just months after the 2018/19 season kicked off. Under his guidance Welwalo quickly moved out the drop zone and finished the season comfortably residing 10th collecting 37 points.
Yohannes Sahile, who have previously worked with likes of Dedebit, Mekelle 70 Enderta and Diredawa is hugely cherished for his faith on youth players, in his 6 months spell with Wolwalo the likes of Semere Haftay, Simon Maru, Shisahy Mezgebo who came up through the clubs youth ranks were given ample time to show their worth.
In related news the Namibian forward Itamunua Keimuine who impressed in his first season in Ethiopian Football with Diredawa is on his way to reunite with his former trainer in Wolwalo. The former Tura Majic attacker was a member of the Namibian national team on the recent AFCON tournament and was unlucky as he scored an own goal in the dying minutes sawing his team to a slender lose against Morocco in the group opener.
Tsegaye Kidanemariam on his way to Sebeta
Tsegaye kidanemariam is set to become the new trainer of Sebeta Ketema.
Sebeta, who was promoted to the Ethiopian premier league after 8 years of absence, decide to part ways with Kifle Boltena who inspired them to premier league promotion last season, Kifle has 2 months left in the contract but it is currently unclear what’s the essence in which the two parties agreed.
Kifle who spoke to Soccer Ethiopia about his departure was quoted, “they contacted me this morning and told me that they are unwilling to continue with me, they should have told me early so that I could apply for other posts. I’m very disappointed with what has happened and I have 2 months left in my contract”. With that being said source from the club told Soccer Ethiopia that’s Tsegaye’s appointment is inevitable and he (Tsegaye) is currently working on new recruits for his new side.
Wolkite agreed to sign four players
With the Ethiopian transfer window opened as of August the 1st Newly Promoted side Wolkite Ketema have acquired the service of four new players, Thomas Semretu and Kweiku Andoh were recruited to reinforce the defense meanwhile the versatile Birhanu Bekele (Debub police) and Berket Tegabu (ECWC) also decided to join Wolkite Kenema. Bereket has previously worked with the team head coach Degareg Yigzaw in his spell with EWWC.
Fasil Tekalign edging closer in landing his first full-time head coach role
The current Ethiopian national team assistant coach Fasil Tekalign is edging closer in landing his first full-time head coach role. Bahir Dar Ketema is in pursuit to sign Fasil after Paulos Getachew resigned from his post.
Fasil, in his playing days represented Kidus Giorgis, Medhin and Mekelakeya, since retirement from playing Football he has worked as an Assistant Coach in the record Ethiopian champions Kidus Giorgis and has a couple of short spells as an assistant coach in the Ethiopian National team. Recently in an interview with Soccer Ethiopia he disclosed that he is currently ready for a new adventure as a head coach.
Fasil, who is currently on duty with the Ethiopian national team which is preparing for a return leg clash with the Djibouti national team for CHAN2020 qualifiers, he is expected to join Bahir Dar soon.
Habtamu Wolde joins Adama Ketema
Since the appointment of Ashenafi Bekele, Adama Ketema have acquired their fourth new signing, Habtamu Wolde who was playing for Dire Dawa for the past 3 years, decided to change colors this time out.
Adama has found the perfect lad for the spot as they were seen struggling to score in the absence of their main man Dawa Hottest.
In other Adama Ketema news Souleiman Mohammed, Tesfaye Bekele, Addis Hintsa and Ephream Zecharias decided to extend their contract for another year at the Club.
Henok Arficho rejoins Hadiya Hossana
Hadiya Hossana who are in preparation to tackle the Ethiopian Premier league once again has signed their former captain Henok Arficho, Hadiya who recently extended Girma Tadesse contract have previously signed Desta Gichamo (Debub Police), Biruk Elias (Debub police) and Abdulsmed Ali (Wolitta Dicha).
