Wolaita Dicha targeting promising Youngsters
Wolaita Dicha who were promoted to Ethiopia’s top tier in 2014/15 under the leadership of Mesay Teferi was once applauded for their approach of building a competitive team with relatively limited resources. But in the past two seasons, the club was seen splashing the cash to bring experienced players and also foreigners to the squad but those strange moves backfired as the team was seen struggling to compete and was mostly seen in the drop zone evading relegation on the last couple of weeks.
However recently the club is believed to be on their way back to where they began, in a recent meeting organized at Beshoftu to enforce the salary cap the club’s president Asefa Hassiso was quoted “We here in Woliata Dicha have decided to return to our previous approach, because the approach we were following for the past two seasons was a total failure”
Wolaita Dicha has yesterday confirmed that they completed the acquisition of Solomon Wodesa and Negash Tadesse for two years from Ethiopia Medhin and Hawassa Ketema respectively.
Newly-appointed head coach Gebrekirstos Birara is currently in Adama attending the Ethiopian U-20 Premier league national tournament and is expected to recruit several players from the tournament.
