The Ethiopian Football Federation has revealed the venues for the upcoming Ethiopian men’s national teams fixtures, as the Tigray international stadium set to host the very first national team fixture with the Bahir Dar Stadium is also selected to host a continental match yet again.
In a recent statement from Confederation of African Football /CAF/ has clearly stated that none of the Stadiums in Ethiopia meet the minimum requirements set for stadiums to host continental encounters and the Confederation may be forced to move the upcoming continental fixtures abroad, but following a serious of dialogue between EFF and CAF led to the latter emphatically giving the green light for the Tigray and Bahir Dar international stadium only under a prohibition period of two months were other finalizing touches shall be done on the stadium for the confederation to approve it be fully fit to host continental fixtures.
The EFF yesterday disclosed that the Bahir Dar international stadium will host the upcoming fixture between the Walia’s against the Lesotho counterpart in the road to Qatar 2022 world cup as both sides will battle it out in the preliminary round qualifiers.
The Tigray international stadium which is set to host the very first continental completion on the coming Sunday in the return leg of the African Champions League preliminary round match between reigning Ethiopian premier league champions Mekelle 70 Enderta and Cano sports academy of Equatorial Guinea will also host the CHAN 2020 qualifiers match against neighboring Rwanda scheduled for September 22.
