Kidus Giorgis to land South American Trainer?

14 times Ethiopian Premier League Champions Kidus Giorgis new head trainer is expected to be a South American as Soccer Ethiopia understands.

Kidus Giorgis currently in search of a new head trainer after they parted ways with the Englishmen Jhon Stewart Hall last May and was previously linked with a move for Wubetu Abate and Milutin Micho are forced to switch their attention to other coaches after both were hijacked from them in the last minute.

Last week Micho was unveiled as the new Zamalek SC head coach after terminating his contract with Orlando Pirates few days prior meanwhile Wubetu Abate who resigned from his Fasil post is expected to be the new Sebeta head coach yet not officially confirmed by the club.

Sources close to Soccer Ethiopia stated that after their two failed attempts the club is currently working on landing yet unknown South American head coach in the coming days before the club commences its Preseason in Adama, Kidus Giorgis has an unsuccessful stint with a South American coach as the Brazilian Neider dos Santos had a short spell with the horsemen’s in 2014/15 season before he was sacked after merely 5 months in Addis Ababa.

The remarkable transfer window for Sebeta Ketema 

Sebeta Kenema who hasn’t yet officially disclosed their new trailer for the upcoming season has finally entered the summer transfer window, With Wubetu Abate appointment at the helm imminent the club in the past few days announced the acquisition of 10 new experienced players.

Last season’s Ethiopian higher league Group A champions Sebeta Kenema sacked Kifle Boltena weeks after they secured promotion to the Ethiopian premier league but were in middle of controversies about their new trainer. It was reported that Wubetu who was keen on working at the capital Addis Ababa for Family-related reason rushed to take the hot seat at the club based very near to the capital.

It has been a remarkable few days for the newly promoted Sebeta Ketema as they are attracting so many elite star players from the league clubs namely Behailu Assefa (Kidus Giorgis), Adisu Tesfaye (Mekelakeya), Wondifraw Getahun (Ethiopia Bunna), Fitsum G/Mariam (Mekelakeya), Mesoud Mohammed (Jimma Aba Jiffar), Dawit Estifanos (Mekelakeya), Samuel Taye (Mekelakeya), Aschalew Girma (Jimma Aba Jiffar), Desalegen Debash (Sehule Shire) 

The club also announced the contract extension of their integral players in their Higher league triumph, skipper Getu H/Mariam, Natnael Ganchula, Firdawek Sissay, Solomon Getahun, Tadele Bayisa, last season’s higher league goal king contender Ibrahim Kedir also committed their future to Sebeta Ketema. 

Sebeta who are expected to be this summer’s heaviest spenders is expected to announce furthermore new signings of the highest caliber in the coming days.

Busy days in office for Bahirdar Ketema

Bahirdar Kenema who appointed Fasil Tekalign for his maiden head coach role has had a pretty busy few days extending the contracts of 10 players meanwhile signing 4 new players.

Bahirdar Ketema new trainer Fasil Tekalegn in alliance with the newly formed Technic department has decided to extend the contracts of the skipper Dereje Mengistu, Fikremichael Alemu, Abel Wedu, Daniel Hailu, Dagmawi Mulugeta, Zenaw Ferede, Henok Achamyeleh, Wosenu Ali, Girma Desassa, Salamlak Tegenge and Fekadu Worku all decided to extend their contract with the “Wave of Tana” for two more years except the veteran Wosenu who penned a one year contract extension.

Also the former Kidus Giorgis assistant coach is attracting players from his former club with the former Ethiopian U-17 national team captain Samuel Tesfaye and Mikias Girma deciding to join him in Bahirdar ketema meanwhile the underrated but influential Ephream Alemu (now named Fitsum Alemu) and the workaholic midfielder Afework Hailu also swap Fasil and Wolwalo AU. respectively for Bahirdar Ketema, also yesterday the club announced that they acquired the service of the promising Goalkepper Tsion Mered from Arbaminch Kenema to replace Mintesnot Alo who went to Mekelakeya.

Mekelakeya hijacking players 

Newly appointed Zelalem Shiefraw is working on landing new players and this week the club announced the signing of 5 new players. Surprisingly all the players recruited were previously reported to be on their way to other clubs but Mekelakeya has hijacked all of them in a spectacular manner.

Left-back Asnake Moges , Center backs Nesredin Hailu, Wingers Fikreyesus T/Birhan, Habtamu Gezahegn, and Forward Habtamu Wolde penned a one year deal with the club.

Asnake Moges who previously was reported to be on his way to Adama ketema but his move failed to materialize and then a move back to Addis Ababa was imminent as the former Ethiopia Bunna player set to reinforce the very fragile defense which was the second-worst defense next to Dedebit conceding 57 goals, Nesredin also was millimeters away from Ethiopia Bunna but eventually end up joining Mekelakeya.

Habtamu Gezahegn who extended his contract with Sidama Bunna and Fikreyesuse was expected to join Sidama Bunna but unfortunately their destination is Mekelakeya the same story for Habtamu Wolde and Adama Ketema.   

Silence is broken at Ethiopia Bunna

Ethiopia Bunna who axed a dozen players is currently working on finding replacements to fill the voids.

With merely 6 players currently in the clubs roster, the club currently breaks the silence and in recent days announced the arrival of 5 new players.

As being reported lately the club is not to spend much on proven talent but is expected to invest a lot on those promising lads if given proper guidance may establish them self’s to star for the future and their transfer business this window is a proof for that.

The Teklmariam Shanko (Hawassa Ketema), Fetudin Jemal (Sidama Bunna) Seyfe Zakier (Federal Police), Alemante Kassa (Dedebit), Habtamu Tadesse (Wolkite Ketema), Wondmenh Dereje (Bahirdar Ketema) will be wearing the yellow and brown jersey for the coming two seasons.

With the former player and coach Kasaye Aragie is set to take over at the club, he in a recent interview with Soccer Ethiopia stated that the negotiations are well underway and his move to Bunna is 85% done with some issues left to be resolved soon. 

In related news Asrat Tunjo who was on his way to Sebeta Ketema is set to continue with Ethiopia Bunna.

Welwalo AU. not finished yet

Welwalo who had a very busy summer transfer window have recently added 5 more new players for the upcoming season.

Henock Mershu, Itamunua Keimuine (Diredawa Ketema), Aynalem Haile (Fasil kenema) and two imports the Ghanaian attacking midfielder Kennedy Ashia and Namibian international Jonas Lolo are the latest recruits.

The powerful left-back Henok Mershu who joined Welwalo A/U after his contract expired with the newly relegated Dedebit FC and will be facing a stiff challenge for the starting place in the teams left corridor from Samuel Yohannes who also is a new recruit from Diredawa Kenema this summer, the vastly experienced Ayanlem Haile who was a member of 2013 AFCON participating Ethiopian national team will add a much-needed maturity to the clubs youth-oriented summer transfer. 

Kennedy Ashia who was a member of the Ghana U20 at the World Youth Championship in Turkey in 2013 previously had a short spell with Sidama Bunna in 2016/17 season is once again back in Ethiopia and this time with Wolwalo A/U.

With 13 new summers signing Welwalo A/U are desperate to make their mark in the upcoming season under the guidance of Yohannes Sahle.

Wolkite Ketema add two new players

Wolkite Ketema who is under a massive squad overhaul from their higher league triumph side has landed two new players in their all-rounded effort to boost their squad.

Former Ethiopia Bunna and Adama Kenema midfielder Ephream Zecarias and ex Ethiopia Medhin goalie George Desta are the latest acquisition of wolkite Kenema.

Currently being the club with most new summer signing (14), Wolkites’s summer business is coming to closing but the club is currently being linked with a move for Ethiopia’s national team skipper Aschalew Tamene whose contract with Kidus Giorgis ended last June.
