Amanuel G/Micheal agrees on a lucrative contract extension with Mekelle

Mekelle 70 Enderta fans have been worrying about the future of their star Amanuel G/Micheal. The wing-forward, who was out of contract at the end of last season, have rejected several contract extension offers from Mekelle. Today he penned a two-year contract extension ending speculations about his future.

Clubs based in Egypt and Switzerland were monitoring Amanuel G/Micheal situation closely in addition to the serial Ethiopian Champions Kidus Giorgis. A few weeks ago, it was reported that Amanuel is destined to stay in Ethiopia rather than seeking a move abroad.

But Mekelle has been able to convince Amanuel to stay at Mekelle and as Soccer Ethiopia understands with details of the new lucrative deal yet unknown, Amanuel is believed to be the clubs highest earner.

“The Emperors” secure Gabriel Ahmed 
The Ghanaian International Gabriel Ahmed has completed his move from reigning Ethiopian Champions to Fasil Kenema penning a one year deal.

The consistent midfielder Gabriel has been enjoying life in the Ethiopian premier league since he joined Dedebit Fc from Inter Allies in July 2012. He had successfully ignited his career with spells at CBE and Hawassa Kenema.

Gabriel,who crowned Ethiopian premier league twice and topped Ethiopian Cup winner once, is expected to bring energy to Fasil Kenema’s midfield with his dynamic range of qualities with interception and tackling blended with fine short and long passes which made him,without doubt,one of the best foreign import midfielders in the Ethiopian premier league. 

Seyoum Kebede, The new head trainer of Fasil after Wubetu’s Departure, has had huge admiration for the Ghanaian and finally made him his first signing for his new club. Gabriel would be the 3rd summer recruit for Fasil after the arrival of Enyew Kassahun and Kirubel Dangachew in the early stages of the summer transfer window.


Sidama Bunna land exciting youngsters

Sidama Bunna, spending a stable summer transfer business with few arrivals and departure, have added two promising youngsters to their squad. The club has finished as a runner up in the Ethiopian Premier League last season. The youngsters Tsegabe Yoseph and Esubalew Mulugeta have switched to Sidama Bunna from Fasil and Addis Ababa Kenema,respectively.

Tsegabe Yoseph, an exciting midfielder who came through Hawassa kenema youth ranks, was promoted to the senior side in Wubetu Abate tenure. He showed a glimpse of what he is made of there. After spending the latter part of last season in Fasil Kenema, he finally ends up being obscured and tempted to end his contract with Fasil having a season and half remaining. 

Esubalew Mulugeta, a diminutive winger, made his way into the senior Addis Ababa team who were promoted to the top tier in 2015/16. Due to lack of playing time,he was hindered to flourish and acclimatize to his challenge.

In addiction to those youngsters, Sidama Bunna has landed Muluken Tariku from Adama Kenema. Former Fasil and Bahrdar Kenema forward- Muluken,who mutually terminated his contract with Adama Kenema few days ago after a dreadful spell with Adama, is also on his way to Sidama Bunna.

With those additions Sidama Bunna will be hoping to challenge for any domestic silverware despite Fetudin Jemal and Habtamu Gezahege departure.


Wolaita Dicha sign Indris Seid

Wolaita Dicha under new head coach are set to freshen up their squad for the new season with a new transfer mindset in place. The former AWWCC and Mekelle 70 Enderta midfielder Indris Seid is going to be the latest testament.

Indris Seid, an influential figure when Mekelle were promoted to the top flight two season ago, is Wolita Dicha’s 5th summer signing. The club has promoted Tamirat Salsa, Azarias Abel, Abebayehu Acheso, Mesay Nicolae, Girum Million from the U-20 side crowned Ethiopian Champions in recently concluded national tournament.


Nothing is stopping Debub Police

Debub Police,who unveiled Temesgen Dana as their new head trainer last week,have been massively engaged in the Transfer Window the past few days recruiting 10 new players with none being a high-profile additions.

Zelalem Tadele, Dagim Tefera, Mesfine Buzie, Micheal Luelseged, Yared Mohammed, Tadios Anbesse, Yehwalshet Solomon who previously worked under Temesgen in his successful spell with the Hawassa Kenema U-17&U-20 will follow his footsteps to Debub Police.

The other club signings are Aschenaki Tsegaye, Habtalem Tadesse and Mulegeta Regassa. The defensive midfielder Aschenaki Tsegaye was brought through the Youth ranks of Arbamich Kenema and he has spent the last four years in the senior side. Meanwhile, Habtalem Tadesse, who joined the club from Woliatuia Dicha, was 2017/18 Ethiopian U-20 tournament best player. 


Late flurry for Jimma Aba Jiffar

Jimma Aba Jiffare late flurry of new signings as the club’s new head coach Pawlose Getachew. Desperate for new signings, this summer transfer window saw exodus of players from the home of the 2017/18 Ethiopian Premier league Champions.

Jimma have landed nine new players from which three of them- Buzayehu Endeshaw,Surafel Awol and Amanuel Getachew made their move from city rivals Jimma Aba Bunna switching to the red and white army. Ephream getachew and Abraham Tamirat are also heading south west from Dedebit Fc.Elias Ahmed followed the footsteps of his former trainer to Jimma. The other new comer Habtamu Nigguse set to reunite with Pawlose after a year spent away at Woldia Kenema.

Temesgen Derese from Wolkite Kenema and goalie Seid Yemer from Arbaminch kenema are also latest recruit.

In related news, the club is currently planning to move to a new home in a quest for better match day revenue. The old Jimma Stadium, jointly being used by Jimma Aba Bunna and Jimma Aba Jiffare, is presently impotent endowed with the capacity to embrace the ever-growing stadium goers. Their new home with a capacity around 80k without seat stadia is located at the jimma University. It is expected to be the new home ground for Jimma Aba Jiffare starting from next season.


New assistant for Kassaye Aragie
 

Zelalem Tsegaye, a former player and coach, who has been working closely with Kassaye Aragie in the newly formed Technic Committee, has been handed an assistant coaching role for Kassaye Aragie. 

Zelalem in his playing days has played for the likes of Ethiopia Medhin, Ethiopian Airlines, and Wonji Sugar After hanging his boots early due to a sustained injury he was in charge of Dedebit’s U-17 side.

Ethiopia Bunna, under new coaching staff, has begun their pre-season preparation in Zeway a few days ago. They have been assessing the performances of players currently under contract including those players promoted to the senior side under the French man Didder Gomez last summer. Till date Temesgen Zewde, Biniam Kassahun, Fitsum Tilahun were outcasted by Kassaye.

4 senior players- Henock Kassahun, Tekaligne Dejine, Kalkidan Zelalem, and Yehwalashet Fekadu- currently under contract- were obliged to have a trial stint with the team. Since they are in a heated row with Kassaye’s move, if they failed to impress, their contract will be terminated prematurely.


Yared Hassen is heading East

Yared Hassen is Diredawa kenmea’s 8th summer signing as the club promoted 5 players from the club’s U-20 side.

Yared Hassen, who switched Woldia for Mekelle 70 Enderata, has started the season with the flying start. But after he sustained an injury mid-season, he failed to live the expectation and was mostly seen on the bench. After parting ways with Mekelle, he is on his way to join Siemone Abay’s Side on a one year deal.

Abiyou Kassaye, Degumesa Abdella, Wondosen Derijie, Abel Acebo, Yared Aberga who were promoted to the senior side are also expected to be given ample trial stints prepared for local and international players in their ongoing preseason at Mekelle.
