Mintesnot Alo seal Shire move

Ethiopian national team first choice goalie Mentesnot Alo seal a move to Shire.

Mentesnot, a highly rated shoot stopper previously agreed to join Mekelakeya upon a precondition where he agreed to join Mekelakeya if the team was supposed to stay at the top flight following their appeal to the EFF but the appeal was overturned and he was allowed to terminate his pre-contract with Mekelakeya and was open for moves.

Mentesnot has been linked with a move to Ethiopia Bunna but negotiations failed between two parties early in the summer, so after days of speculations Mintesnot is heading to Sehul Shire.

Shire who was on a pursuit to land native goalkeeper was linked with a move for Sofonias Seife and Berket Amare but finally acquired the service of Mentesnot Alo.


Players departing from Mekelakeya

Players previously had a pre-contract with Mekelakeya are seeking for a move away from Mekelakeya following the overturned appeal, with Habtamu Gezahegn and Antneh Tesfaye being the latest players departing.

Habtamu Gezahegn agreed on a move that would see him move back to his former side Sidama Bunna meanwhile Anteneh sealed a move to Sebeta Ketema.

Several players are expected to be following the footsteps of the two.


Jimma Aba Jiffar land Ghanian duo

Jimma Aba Jiffar has today confirmed the acquisition of two Ghanaian players, the goalie Mohammed Muntari Tagoe and the central defender Alex Amuzu on a one year deal.

Former Ghana U-20 & U-23 goalkeeper Mohammed Muntari Tagoe joined Jimma from Asante Kotoko. Muntari was linked with a move to Kidus Giorgis last season but they opted to sign the Kenyan international Patrick Matasi.

Mohammed Muntari Tagoe joins Jimma after his fellow countryman Daniel Ageyi departs for Sebeta Ketema but is the Muntari capable of filling Daniel’s boots at Jimma is remained to be seen.

Alex Amuzu who is into his third season completed his move from Bahirdar Ketema after a good season with “Wave of Tana”. This move would reunite Alex with his former trainer Pawlose Getachew after their spell with Bahirdar.

Alex Amuzu is expected to play a huge role in the building blocks at a new looking Jimma Aba Jiffar side under Pawlos Getachew.


Diredawa Ketema sign Nigerian forward

Diredawa Ketema signs the Nigerian international forward Bojowa Adigasen on a one year deal after a trial stint with the team in Bishoftu.

Diredawa Kenema has been given ample opportunities for local lads and players from abroad in the past two weeks and has been signing those impressing in their stint, the latest one being the 26 year old Nigerian forward Bojowa.

Bojowa Adegsen, has been playing for Rangers international Fc and Sunshine Stars in his native nation, Diredawa Kenema who have lost two of their best strikers to fellow top-flight sides have also captured the signature of Ghanian international Richmond Adongo days ago.


Mekelle 70 Enderta sign three players

Abel Mebrahtu, Asnake Moges, and Lawrence Edward Agbone are the latest acquisition for the reigning Ethiopian Premier League champions.

Lawrence Edward Agbone, a household name in Iraqi football has played for the likes of Al Sinaat, Karbalaa FC, Masafi Al-Janoob SC, Al-Kahraba in Iraqi leagues and also had a spell with Tunisian based Étoile Sportive du Sahel.

Asnake Moges previously agreed to join Mekelakeya but after the club appeals to stay at the top flight was overturned he ended his contract there and is on his way to complete a move to the current league champions.

Abel Mebrahtu also joined Mekelle after impressing gebremedhin Haile in his trial, the clubs latest acquisition will add a much-needed versatility in defense and midfield that the club was lucking in the previous two seasons at the top flight.

Fitsum T/Mariam and Abiy Tewolde are expected to be joining the senior side from the team’s reserve side this time out.


Adama Sissoko joins Bahir Dar Ketema

Bahirdar Ketema has captured the Malian international Adama Sissoko from Jimma Aba Jiffar.

Adama joined Jimma Aba Jiffar in 2017/18 and has been a strong figure in the premier league title-winning season and has also be named the club captain for much of last season including matches in their debut continental journey.

Adama has a huge boot to fill as last season’s Bahirdar Ketema top performer center back has left the club for Ethiopia Bunna, with his experience Adama’s purchase is anticipated to prove instrumental for “Wave Of Tana”.

The club also announced the appointment of Tadesse Tilahun as the assistant trainer for Fasil Tekalign.


Arbaminch Kenema sign two players

Arbaminch Kenema has been reunited with two of its former players, Tekalige Dejine and Firew Geremew are back at their home town club.

Tekalige Dejine who prematurely parted ways with Ethiopia Bunna after a dreadful season away from Arbaminch Kenema. Tekalige was once an integral member of the Ethiopian National team under Yohannes Sahle’s tenure.

The other signing is Firew Geremew, he was brought through the ranks of Arbaminch Kenema and spent last season with Debub Police.


Woliata Dicha appoint two assistant trainers

Wolaita Dicha appoints two of its former players as an assistant coach for Gebrekirstos Birara.
Delelege Dechata, who worked as an assistant coach for Zenebe Fisseha and Ashenafi Bekele was given a green light to continue in his post meanwhile the clubs legend Gizachew Getachew who was the team captain as Wolaita Dicha earned promotion to the premier league back in 2005 is the new assistant coach.

The club also appoints Zelalem Matios as the clubs goalkeeping coach. Zelalem, previously worked in the youth rank teams of Woliata Dicha and also the Ethiopian U-20 national is expected to make his senior debut.


Eric Muranda has unfinished business left at Debub Police

The 42 years old Kenyan international is once again on his way to higher league side Debub Police,

Eric first came into Ethiopian football top flight when he and his fellow countryman Francis Chinjil joined the “Horsemen” and were leading the front line for them in 2002/03, he also had a vast experience playing in Far East clubs.

He was an influential figure for Debub Police as they earned promotion to the premier league in 2017/18, immediately after their promotion he followed the footsteps of his former coach Girma Taddese where once again guide Hadiya Hossana to the premier league this time out.

After a successful year with Hadiya he is reportedly on a move which would saw him move back to Debub Police.

– Abayneh Feno and Abenezer Ote reunited with their former trainer in Wolkite.

– Yetagesu Endale is once again been appointed as the assistant trainer of Wubetu Abate at Sebeta Ketema.

– Kidus Giorgis outcast youngster Luke Paul made a shock move to Debub Police on a season-long deal.

– Addis Fisseha returned to Ethiopia Bunna after a year spent at Sebeta Ketema.
