Dawit Fikadu scored twice as Dedebit conquered strugglers Hadiya Hossana 3-1 in Hossana. Diredawa Ketema and ArbaMinch Ketema were involved in barren draw in Diredawa.
Dedebit swept aside relegation threatened Hadiya Hossana as they go top of the league table. Dawit Fikadu hits a brace in each half whilst Hossana’s player Ayele Tesfaye scored an own goal to condemn Hossana to another loss at home. Winger Dula Mulatu pulled one back in the 72d minute through a fine strike.
Diredawa Ketema and ArbaMich Ketema settled for a goalless draw. The game saw handful of goal attempts only as ArbaMinch Ketema deployed a very strict defensive strategy.
The result leaves Dedebit at the top of the league. Kidus Giorgis, who played two games less, sits second with Adama Ketema in third position with 23 points. Diredawa Ketema are fifth with 18 points. ArbaMinch Ketema occupies 11th position. Hadiya Hossana, who banned coach Girma Tadesse, continues to dangle bottom with 5 points.
