Salahdin Said turns down Walias Recall

Kidus Giorgis striker Salahdin Said has rejected a recall to the Ethiopia national team ahead of this month’s African Cup of Nations qualifiers doubleheader against Group J leaders Algeria on March 25 and 29.

Salahdin has joined his former club Kidus Giorgis on February after unsuccessful spell in Algeria with MC Alger. Sala claimed he is not mentally ready to play for the Walias having been without a competitive game for the last two months. Sala last played for the Walias in June last year against Lesotho in which he scored the winning goal in the second half.

Ethiopia coach Yohannis Sahle has summoned Ethiopia Bunna’s defender Abdulkerim Mohammed in place of the injured Seyoum Tesfaye. Adama Ketema center forward Tafese Tesfaye has also pulled out of the provisional squad after sustaining an injury.
