News reaching Soccer Ethiopia has stated Mekelakeya coach Gebremedhin Haile has been appointed to lead the Walias for the remaining 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Lesotho and Seychelles.
The Ethiopian Football Federation has terminated the contract of Yohannis Sahle amicably as of May 2.
An official statement from the Federation hinted EFF has already selected a replacement for Yohannis.
Although, the Federation has decided against unveiling the new manager officially, Soccer Ethiopia has now learnt from close sources that the Emergency Committee has handed the interim manager job for the former striker.
Gebremedhin has been coaching Premier League side Mekelakeya since 2011/12 season winning the Ethiopian Cup twice in the process. Gebremedhin was the part of the title winning Ethiopian side during Asrat Haile’s tenure when he was the assistant coach as the Walias clinched CECAFA Cup trophy.
